Business Intelligence

What is business intelligence?

Business intelligence is a complete understanding of how an organization functions.  Business intelligence offers a high-level perspective of the organization’s performance as a whole, as well as the ability to dive into a more granular level to gain a focused perspective of a particular area.  It includes studying and understanding workflows and its business operations through process mapping.  It also includes the ability to track and manage all operations in real-time.

When an organization is equipped with this information, it is able to quickly identify root causes of issues, resolve them, and get back on track.

If any of the following statements apply to your organization, it might need help in this area:

  • The organization or its program areas are not meeting their goals or objectives, but it is not clear why this is happening.
  • The organization is not able to track its individual business operations in real time.
  • The organization is not able to track its overall performance in real time.
  • The organization or its program areas lack an understanding of how individual processes are related to and impact each other.
